Ibi the oil wrestler

We had a great evening together in Selcuk, topped off with hanging out at a kilim (rug) shop. There, we met an oil wrestler named Ibi who taught us tavla (backgammon) and told us about his home town, Van. We told the staff up front that we cannot buy anything due to our backpacking ways, but they were keen to chat, regardless of whether it turns into a sale. We were there for quite a while and we were never pressured. In fact, we learned a lot about Van, and oil wrestling! They also had a Van cat who is not even 2 weeks old. These cats are endangered, yet famous for having different eye colours and enjoying a good swim. After 4 rounds of tavla and much more conversation, we parted ways, with Ibi's card of course. If any of you ladies or guys out there have a thing for greased up men, I have his number.

There was a lot more to see in Selcuk, including the ancient city of Ephesus. Another indescribable sight, I cannot wait to upload photos!
